The honeymoon may be over but the first dates as Mr. & Mrs. can be just as exciting.
In this post, we cover the TOP 20 date night ideas for newlyweds that BOTH spouses are sure to love and enjoy!
We’ve included an asterisk next to ideas that work great with the Prazoli Couples Aprons Set
1. Reenact your first date 😍
Name something more romantic and heart-warming than recreating your first date or re-visiting the spot you both met for the first time? If you haven’t done this already we HIGHLY recommend it. There’s nothing like a walk down memory lane.
2. Weekend Out Of Town
We all need an escape every once in a while. Live in the city? Spend a weekend at a tranquil cabin in the forest or at a cozy lakehouse. Live in the country? Rent an apartment downtown of your nearby city and spend time doing new things you wouldn’t or couldn’t normally do at home.
3. Day (Or Night) At The Spa
Take some time to relax and get a couples massage. You don’t even have to leave the house! Play some soothing music on your iPhone, get a small bottle of aromatic bath salts, light a couple candles, add some hot water and voilá! You know have your own personal spa! You can even Youtube “How To Give A Proper Massage” and learn to give massages to each other! This is a gift that will keep on giving.
4. Visit A Local Pet Store/ Shelter
WARNING: Visit your local pet store at your own risk! Sure, her life is “just fine” without an adorable puppy…until you’re about to leave the pet store. Whether you do or don’t plan on owning a pet, giving shelter cats, dogs and other pets some much-needed love can make you both feel great.
5. Be Your Own Bartender
DIY cocktails can be a fun way to unwind at the end of a long week (or a Tuesday evening). Browse through some cocktail photos on Pinterest or Google until you both find something you like and play bartender for the night. It’s OK if you don’t get it right – you can always just go wine tasting.
6. Volunteer
Not what you usually expect as a “date night” idea but volunteering at your local charity (or pet shelter) is a GREAT idea. Not only do you help your local community but you will see another, beautiful side of your partner. You can have a lot of fun together and you’ll both feel great (and maybe a little tired) at the end of the day.
7. Cooking Class
One of the best investments you can make in your new marriage! This is actually a BIG reason we created the Cute Couples Cooking Apron. Everyone has to eat, right? Why not learn how to make delicious meals from the food you already have in your home or that you can easily grab from your local grocery store? Attend a local cooking class or look up your favorite recipe online and attempt it together. It’s a fun and worthwhile skill that will draw you both together as a couple.
8. Day At The Museum
Whoever said, “Museums are boring” obviously haven’t seen Night at The Museum when Teddy Roosevelt falls in love with Sacagawea. Museums are a fantastic place to spend time as a couple. Learning is fun whether it’s history or art or technology, and learning together is double the fun.
9. Board Game Night
Board Games turn “boring nights” into a night of fun! Grab your favorite board game or learn a new one together. See the competitive side of your partner but remember, “It’s just a game”. As a side note, our team HIGHLY recommends the board game Cashflow. It’s a fun way to learn about real-world finances. We know it sounds boring but it can have a profoundly positive impact on your marriage – give it a try.
10. Night At A Nearby Hotel
Get out of your comfort zone! Find a hotel in your hometown and spend the night. You’ll both see your town from a different perspective. Also, hotels with indoor pools and continental breakfasts are a plus ESPECIALLY during the colder months.
11. Boating
Assuming neither of you easily get sea-sick, take a boat ride out on a local lake, ocean or canoe on your local river. There’s something peaceful and renewing about being out on the water.
12. Day At The Zoo
Who doesn’t love animals? Zoos are great for kids AND adults alike! Get some exercise in while marveling at the incredible and intricate beauty of nature.
13. Indoor Movie Night
Who says you have to go out for movies? Get some cozy blankets, microwave some popcorn, stream your favorite movie or series on Netflix, and voilá!
14. Picnic At The Park
What a lovely way to spend time together! Grab a comfy outdoor blanket, a basket with some of your favorite food and head over to your local park. This is the perfect opportunity to focus and give quality time to one another.
15. Outdoor Movie Night
If the weather outside ISN’T frightful, then an outdoor movie can make for a delightful and romantic date night. Find a drive-in theater near you or a local park or business playing a classic movie from a projector.
16. Indoor Rock Climbing
For the more athletic couple. See who can reach the top or master the most difficult course. You may be surprised! A relaxing movie night afterward can make a great combo.
17. Trampoline Park
Loads of fun and great exercise too! Feel like a kid again and let loose. If there isn’t a trampoline park near you there’s bound to be one soon. Also, consider going bowling or playing laser tag.
18. Camping
For the more “outdoorsy” couple. Camping can be a great bonding experience just make sure you check the weather forecast beforehand. If you don’t want to do the whole “tent” thing you can always rent a cabin and go hike in the beautiful nature around. This is a great opportunity to focus on each other and bond as a couple.
19. Musical
Get tickets to a local musical or other live performances like Shin Yun, Cirque Du Soleil, Blue Man Group, and more. It’s nice to ditch the screen every once in a while.
20. Seasonal
Think of some activities that only happen at a certain time of year and make sure you don’t miss out! Some ideas include ice skating, pumpkin carving, visiting an orchard or vineyard, light shows, sports games, grilling out, music festivals, fairs, and carnivals, and the list goes on!
